President Donald Trump signed a bill re-opening the application window for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) until August 8.  The previous deadline date was June 30.

Both the House and the Senate had signed off on unanimous approval previously within days of each other.

The extension keeps a source of funding open to struggling small businesses while Congress works on a second, more targeted funding program. The SBA has approved approximately 5 million loans for a total of more than $520 billion.
